The three sizes have different shapes. Which one should I choose?

The 50cm size is wider than it is tall, a low drum for a small table or a bedroom. The 60cm size is as tall as it is wide, and the 80cm size is a tall cone. A common rule for a table is to pick a fixture at least 12″ narrower than the table: about 32″ wide or larger for the 19.7″ size, 36″ for the 23.6″ size, and 44″ for the 31.5″ size. The two larger sizes are the ones to pick for an entryway or a stairwell.

How much ceiling height do I need for the taller sizes?

Add up four things: the height of your table, about 30″, then 30″ to 36″ of clearance above the tabletop, then the fixture height, then the chain. The standard chain is 12″. In a walkway, keep the bottom at least 7 feet above the floor. The chain can be changed on request, so send us your ceiling height and where you want the bottom to sit, and we will confirm the chain you need.

Will I see the bulbs through the frosted rods?

Mostly not. The glass is frosted white, so it softens and hides the bulbs, and you see pale glowing rods. In the outer ring you may see faint bright spots where a bulb sits close to the glass. Unlit, the fixture looks milky white, a little like frosted ice, with the chrome hooks showing at the top.

What bulbs should I use?

Both LED and Edison bulbs fit. The socket is E14, which is slightly wider than the E12 base common in the US, so check the base printed on the box. Frosted glass absorbs some of the light, so choose a bright LED. Warm white gives a soft, creamy glow with white glass, and a cooler white gives a crisper, brighter look. Ask us for the number of lights in the size you want before you order, so you can buy enough bulbs.

Can I dim it? Can I use it in a bathroom?

It is listed as compatible with common wall switches, which are not included. Dimming is not listed, so ask us first if you want to use a dimmer. No moisture rating is listed, and it is for indoor use, so we recommend dry rooms only, and not a bathroom or a covered patio.

How do I clean so many rods?

Switch it off and let the bulbs cool. Work from the top ring down so dust falls onto rods you have not cleaned yet. Wipe each rod with a soft, dry microfiber cloth, holding it steady with your other hand, because the rods hang from small hooks. Frosted white shows fingerprints, so avoid touching the glass with bare hands. Keep liquid cleaners off the chrome.
