Alabaster is a natural stone, so veining, clouding, tone, and translucency vary from piece to piece. A pair can be coordinated but will not be perfectly identical; this variation is part of the material rather than a printing defect.
Thin translucent stone diffuses the source and reveals mineral pattern when illuminated. Brightness depends on stone thickness, fixture opening, and light source, so alabaster sconces are often strongest as ambient or accent lighting.
Use them where the stone can be seen without contact from doors, chairs, or traffic. For pairs, align the fixture centres and check projection, weight, and junction-box positions before drilling.
