It mounts flat to the ceiling but is 16″ to 23″ tall. How high does my ceiling need to be?

The petals hang down from the ceiling plate, so the bottom of the fixture sits roughly the listed height below the ceiling. In a walkway, keep the bottom at least 7 feet above the floor. That means a ceiling of about 8.4 feet for the 40cm size, 8.6 feet for the 50cm size, and 8.9 feet for the 60cm size. In a room with a standard 8-foot ceiling, it is best placed where nobody walks directly underneath, for example over a bed, a dining table or in the corner of a room.

Which size is right for my room?

A common rule is to add the room's length and width in feet and use that number as the fixture's diameter in inches. By that rule, the 15.7″ size suits a room where length plus width is about 16 feet, such as an 8 × 8 foot entryway, the 19.7″ size about 20 feet, and the 23.6″ size about 24 feet, such as a 12 × 12 foot dining room. The 23.6″ size also has 9 bulbs instead of 5, so it gives more light.

The bulb base says E14 or E12. Which one do I need?

E12 is the small candelabra base common in the US, and E14 is slightly wider and common in the UK, Europe and Asia, so the two are not interchangeable. Confirm the base with us before you order, so you can buy matching bulbs. When you replace bulbs later, check the base printed on the bulb box.

What does it look like lit? Will I see the bulbs?

The milky white centres glow softly, and the clear rims catch the light as bright outlines. The petals overlap but leave small gaps, so from below and from the side you will see parts of the bulbs through the clear edges. The glass is hand-formed, so each petal has a slightly different shape and pattern of cloud, and your fixture will look like the photo but not be identical.

Can I use it in a bathroom? Can I dim it?

No bathroom: it is rated IP20, which means no protection against water, so it is for dry indoor rooms only. It is listed as compatible with common wall switches, which are not included. Dimming is not listed, so ask us first if you want to use a dimmer.

How do I clean the petals?

Switch it off and let the bulbs cool. Wipe each petal with a soft, dry microfiber cloth, holding it steady with your other hand so it does not twist on its fitting. Work from the upper layer down. Keep liquid cleaners off the gold finish.
