Curved glass petals with a rippled, hammered surface overlap in stepped tiers around a metal frame, wide at the top and narrowing toward the bottom. The glass is a translucent smoke gray. Unlit it looks cool and neutral. Lit, the light passing through turns a warm amber-gold, most of all in the centre of the fixture where the petals are thickest.

It hangs from a short chain under a ceiling canopy and comes in three sizes, from 60cm to 100cm wide. It is a good fit for a dining room, a living room, or a wide entryway where you want a darker, moodier glass chandelier.

FAQ

Which of the three sizes should I pick?

A common rule is to pick a fixture at least 12″ narrower than the table. By that rule, the 23.6″ size suits a table about 36″ wide or larger, the 31.5″ size suits about 44″ or larger, and the 39.4″ size suits about 51″ or larger. All three are wide and fairly low, so they work well over a table or in a room where you do not want a tall fixture.

The standard chain is 12″. Is that enough for my ceiling?

It suits a standard-height ceiling. If your ceiling is higher than about 9 feet, or you want the fixture to hang lower over a table, ask for a longer chain before you order. Over a table, a common guide is 30″ to 36″ between the tabletop and the bottom of the fixture. In a walkway, keep the bottom at least 7 feet above the floor.

Will the smoke gray glass make my room dark?

Smoke glass absorbs more light than clear or white glass, so the fixture gives a softer, moodier glow. It works best as a decorative and ambient light. If you need bright light for cooking, reading or homework, keep other lights in the room. Warm white bulbs bring out the amber tone in the glass.

What bulbs should I use, and are E14 and E12 the same?

The socket is E14, which is slightly wider than the E12 candelabra base common in the US, so E12 bulbs will not fit. Both LED and Edison bulbs work. LED runs cooler and uses less power. An Edison bulb shows its filament through the glass and gives a warmer, more golden glow. Buy all the bulbs in the same type and colour temperature so the fixture glows evenly.

Can I dim it?

Dimming is not listed for this chandelier. It is listed for use with a standard wall switch, which is not included. If you want to use a dimmer, ask us first so we can confirm it works with your bulbs and setup.

How do I dust the overlapping glass plates?

Switch it off and let the bulbs cool. Dust shows up more easily on dark glass, so clean regularly. Work from the top tier down with a soft, dry brush or microfiber cloth, and hold each plate steady with your other hand. For marks, use a cloth lightly dampened with water, and keep liquids off the metal frame.
