The Diamond Glacier Cascade Grand Chandelier features elongated teardrop-shaped glass petals arranged in cascading layers around a polished chrome-toned frame. Each glass piece has a milky white and clear textured finish that softly catches and diffuses the light, creating a luminous waterfall effect. Available in multiple sizes and tier configurations, this dramatic chandelier is ideal for stairwells, double-height foyers, entryways, hotel lobbies, and dining spaces that need a striking vertical statement light.

It is built in five sizes, from 3 layers (40cm wide) to 7 layers (100cm wide), and gets taller as the layers increase. The small sizes suit a bedroom or an entryway, and the large ones suit a stairwell, a double-height foyer or a hotel lobby.

FAQ

There are five sizes. How do I choose?

More layers mean a wider and much taller fixture. A common rule for a table is to pick a fixture at least 12″ narrower than the table, which gives these minimum table widths: about 28″ for the 3-layer, 32″ for the 4-layer, 36″ for the 5-layer, 44″ for the 6-layer, and 51″ for the 7-layer. The 3-layer and 4-layer sizes suit a bedroom, an entryway or a small table. The 6-layer and 7-layer sizes are for large dining tables, stairwells and double-height rooms.

How high does my ceiling need to be?

In a walkway, the bottom should be at least 7 feet above the floor, so the ceiling height you need is 7 feet plus the fixture height plus the chain you use. For example, the 5-layer is 34.3″ tall and the 7-layer is 42.2″ tall. A 50cm (19.7″) chain is supplied and can be extended on request. Send us your ceiling height and where you want the bottom to sit, and we will confirm the chain length.

What does the textured glass look like lit?

The woven lattice on each petal breaks the light into small diamond-shaped highlights, so the glass glows with a soft, sparkling texture and not a flat white. The petals overlap, so the light looks brightest in the centre and softer around the edge. Most of the bulb is hidden behind the textured glass, but you may see a warm bright spot through the gaps near the middle.

What bulbs can I use, given the 40W limit?

The socket is E14, which is slightly wider than the E12 base common in the US, so check the base printed on the box. The listed maximum power is 40W, so use bulbs at or below that rating. LED bulbs are the easiest way to stay within the limit, and they run cool, which is kinder to the glass. Warm white bulbs suit the creamy white glass best.

How heavy is it? Do I need an electrician?

Glass chandeliers get heavy as the layers increase, so for the larger sizes, ask us for the weight and make sure your ceiling box and mounting are rated to carry it. It is hardwired, which means it connects directly to your ceiling wiring, and we recommend professional installation.

Can I dim it? Can I use it in a bathroom?

It is listed as compatible with common wall switches, which are not included. Dimming is not listed, so ask us first if you want to use a dimmer. It is rated IP20, which means no protection against water, so it is for dry indoor rooms only, and not for a bathroom, a shower area or a covered patio.

How do I clean so many textured petals?

Switch it off and let the bulbs cool. Work from the top layer down so dust falls onto petals you have not cleaned yet. Dust settles in the lattice, so use a soft, dry brush first, then wipe each petal with a dry microfiber cloth, holding it steady because the petals hang from small hooks. Keep liquid cleaners off the chrome.

As an interior decorator, I sourced this for a client's transitional living room remodel. The layered drop silhouette references mid-century Venetian fixtures without the fragile vintage price tag. Pairing it with 2700K dimmable LED candelabra bulbs gives the thick glass an inviting, candlelight-like warmth.

Solid build throughout. Shortening the chrome chain links took proper bolt cutters and some muscle, but it hangs rock-solid over our entryway console table.

K
Keith Hollister

Took two of us on scaffolding to get it mounted into a 16-foot ceiling. Wiring went fast, but hanging the dozens of glass pieces is definitely a two-person job. Worth every ounce of sweat once you flip the switch.

P
Paige Kensington

Looks far more custom than retail catalog fixtures. The way the light spills downward over our dark hardwood floors is warm and even. It does collect dust on the upper contours of the glass, so plan on running an electrostatic duster over it periodically.

J

Clean chrome finish on the canopy and collar. Assembly instructions were essentially a single diagram, but hooking the drops from the lowest inner ring outward made the process relatively straightforward.

G
Garrett Shaw

Heavy, substantial glass with zero cheap plastic shortcuts. We hired a licensed electrician because the assembled weight easily exceeds 45 pounds, requiring extra ceiling joist bracing. Once illuminated, the diamond grid pattern projects the most subtle honeycomb shadows across our dining room ceiling.

L
Leo Stanhope

Impressive craftsmanship on the cast glass. Each drop has real weight and thickness, meaning they do not sway or clink together when the front door opens and creates a cross breeze.

W
Whitney Callahan

Dramatic waterfall profile that instantly commands the entry. We have traditional board-and-batten wall paneling, and the polished chrome paired with patterned glass balances old-world charm with crisp modern lines. Make sure you wear cotton gloves while hanging the drops to prevent oily fingerprints.

We installed this in our two-story foyer right above the main staircase landing, and the scale is spectacular. The quilted texture across each glass drop diffuses the light so thoroughly that you can look straight at it from the second floor without squinting. It arrived in three wooden crates with custom foam for every single teardrop; unboxing and hanging each piece onto the chrome rings took nearly three hours, but the structural heft is undeniable.

D
Darren McAllister

Sturdy metal framework and reliable wire hook clips. Mounted it in our dining room above an eight-person oak table. The diameter fills the visual volume of the room without obstructing cross-table conversations.

C
Carson Miller

Replaced a dated brass fixture in our high-ceiling hallway. The daylight refracts through the clear drops even when switched off, acting like a suncatcher throughout the morning. One glass cone had a tiny air bubble near the top loop, but once suspended in the cluster, you cannot spot it unless you are on a ladder.

V
Valerie Dupont

Truly sculptural in our grand entryway. Visitors immediately gaze up when walking through the front door. The diamond cuts on each drop catch the evening light and create shimmering ambient reflections across the ceiling vaults.
