A true conversation piece in our open-plan sitting room. Guests instinctively walk up to inspect the luminous mineral waves flowing through the stone. The internal lighting casts a soothing, candle-like tone that makes evening reading feel grounded and relaxed.
Sourced this monumental lamp for an architectural penthouse vestibule styled in warm brutalism. The tapered obelisk geometry topped with a flying-saucer collar bridges retro-futuristic Italian lighting with grounded geological craft. When dialed down on our floor dimmer at thirty-five percent, the stone column emits an intimate, lunar warmth that softens the raw concrete backdrop without leaking bare bulb glare into walking sightlines.
Placed this illuminated stone totem beside our low-slung Italian sofa, and the dual-zone lighting is pure theater. The entire tapered alabaster column glows from within, showcasing swirling veins of honey and slate gray, while the flared black chrome collar directs a pool of warm reflection downward across the hardwood. Sliding the wide metal saucer collar over the top stone segment required two people to guide it down without scuffing the polished mirror finish, but once seated, it looks like custom gallery art.
Stately vertical proportions that balance high ceilings effortlessly. It provides full-height ambient diffusion from the stone core while the wide saucer collar shields your eyes from direct glare when seated on adjacent armchairs. Always wear soft cotton gloves when moving the segments to keep hand oils off the honed rock.
Looks far more curated than standard department store showroom lamps. The dark polished collar introduces a sharp industrial contrast against the creamy stone. Dust does settle along the upper slope of the metallic reflector collar over time, so running a feather duster around the rim once a week keeps the mirror surface gleaming.
Clean internal electrical chassis with LEDs running along the entire internal spine. The step switch on the braided black power cord has a positive click, and the fixture runs dead silent with zero electronic buzz or driver hum.
Genuine carved alabaster segments with incredible mineral density and authentic cool stone weight. The mirror-polished dark chrome shade acts like an inverted dish that catches light both from the illuminated pillar below and ambient sunlight during the day. Keep in mind that natural stone variance is very dramatic; the swirls on mine lean heavier into smoky charcoal waves along the midsection, which confirms it was turned from real quarried rock rather than cast composite resin.
Sturdy build, precision machining on the collar bracket, and dependable electrical components. The downward reflection from the black saucer illuminates paperwork in my home office corner comfortably without casting glare onto my computer monitor.
Replaced a spindly tripod floor lamp in our formal living room. The column footprint is remarkably compact, yet the weight keeps it firmly grounded so it never sways. The mirror-finish metal shade attracts fingerprint smudges during setup, so make sure to keep a microfiber cloth nearby for a final polish once the collar is locked in place.
Solid stone pillar, mirror-dark metallic dish, and a hypnotic evening glow beside our library hearth.
Substantial stone weight throughout. Make sure to assemble the lamp right where you plan to keep it, because between the multi-tier stone column and the heavy metal dish, this fixture is surprisingly dense to relocate across rooms.
