Smoke gray gives a moodier, softer light, because the tinted glass absorbs some of the brightness and turns the glow a warm gold. Clear lets more light through and looks lighter and more sparkly, with the gold frame showing clearly inside. If the room is already dark or you want maximum light, choose clear. If you want a quieter, more atmospheric look, choose smoke gray.

A common rule is to pick a fixture at least 12″ narrower than the table. By that rule, the 19.7″ size suits a table about 32″ wide or larger, the 23.6″ size about 36″ or larger, and the 31.5″ size about 44″ or larger. All three are taller than they are wide, so they work well over a round table or in a stairwell.

The listed heights are 22.8″, 26.8″ and 33.5″, and the chain adds to the drop. Over a table, a common guide is to hang the bottom 30″ to 36″ above the tabletop. In a walkway, keep the bottom at least 7 feet above the floor. The standard chain is 11.8″, and the length can be changed on request, so send us your ceiling height and we will confirm the chain you need.

In the smoke gray, the tint hides the bulbs a little more than in the clear. If you use Edison bulbs, you will see the filament through the ribs, which many people like for the extra warmth.

Both LED and Edison bulbs fit. The socket is E14, which is slightly wider than the E12 base common in the US, so check the base printed on the bulb box. LED runs cooler and uses less power. Edison bulbs add a warmer, more decorative glow but run hotter. Buy all the bulbs in the same type so the fixture glows evenly.

It is listed as compatible with common wall switches, which are not included. Dimming is not listed. If you want to use a dimmer, ask us first so we can confirm it works with your bulbs and setup.

Switch it off and let the bulbs cool. Dust settles in the ribs, so run a soft, dry brush along them first, then wipe each leaf with a microfiber cloth, holding it steady with your other hand. Work from the top tier down. Keep liquid cleaners off the gold finish and the fabric chain sleeve.
