You can aim it. Each arm bends and each shade rotates, so you can angle the heads toward a table, a wall, or a corner you want to bring out. The inside of every shade is white, which spreads the light softly instead of throwing a hard beam. Because the shades are deep, you won't get much glare when you're sitting below. A good habit is to hang it first, switch it on, then adjust the arms one at a time until the room looks right. You can change the setup later as often as you like.

It takes E26 or E27 bulbs, and LED, CFL, and classic Edison bulbs all work. Every arm has its own socket, so the 3-arm model needs three bulbs and the 6-arm model needs six. Each socket is rated for up to 40W, which is plenty because a typical LED uses a fraction of that. Buy all the bulbs in the same color temperature so the light looks even, and warm white around 2700K suits the matte finish best. A frosted bulb will soften the look, since a clear one can be seen from some angles.

Yes. It works with a standard wall switch, and it also works with most smart dimmers as long as you use dimmable bulbs. The dimmer matters as much as the bulb, so pick one that's rated for LEDs if that's what you're using. A mismatch is the usual cause of flickering or buzzing. If you're adding a smart dimmer for the first time, it's worth asking your electrician to check it's compatible with your wiring. Once it's set up, dimming it low in the evening gives the fixture a lovely, gallery-style glow.

It's hardwired into the ceiling, so we recommend having a licensed electrician do it. The fixture runs on AC 110 to 240V, which suits most homes around the world. Ask the electrician to confirm that your ceiling box can safely carry the weight of a steel and aluminum fixture this size. Turn off the power at the breaker before any work begins. The 3-arm model is 150cm (59.1") long and fits a dining table, a bedroom, or a mid-sized living room. The 6-arm model stretches 220cm (86.6") and is meant for big living halls, galleries, and open-plan spaces. Both are only 32cm (12.6") tall, so they sit close to the ceiling and suit lower rooms too. Over a table, choose a size slightly narrower than the table so the arms don't feel like they're hanging past the edges. If you're unsure, lay a strip of tape on the floor at the fixture's length to see how much space it takes up.

It's tested for indoor, dry locations (IP20), so bathrooms are not a good fit. A kitchen island is fine, and the product is made for spaces like that. Try to keep it away from places with steam or grease, such as directly over a stove or sink. Moisture and cooking residue can mark the finish and aren't covered by the dry-location rating. Dining rooms, living rooms, bedrooms, and hallways are the best places for it.
