What table length does a 31.5″ linear chandelier suit?
A common rule for a linear fixture is a length of about half to two-thirds of the table's length. By that rule, it suits a table roughly 4 to 5 feet long, such as a 4-seat or 6-seat rectangular table, or a kitchen island of a similar length. For a longer table, you would hang two of them in a row.
How wide is it, so I know it fits my table?
The listed size is length and height, 80cm by 19cm. The fixture is an oval, and its width depends on the frame, so if the width matters for your table or island, ask us for it before you order. A common rule is to keep any pendant at least 12″ narrower than the table.
How is it hung, and how do I set the height?
It hangs from two fabric-sleeved chains on a bar canopy, with 50cm (19.7″) of chain adjustable when it is installed. Over a table, a common guide is to hang the bottom 30″ to 36″ above the tabletop. In a walkway, keep the bottom at least 7 feet above the floor. At 7.5″ tall, the fixture itself takes little height.
What does the light look like over a table?
It is a warm 3000K, a soft golden white. The frosted glass base spreads an even glow down over the table, which is easy on the eyes when you are seated beneath it. Some light also escapes through the clear glass flowers and the gaps between the ceramic ones, which puts small patterns of light on the walls and ceiling.
Are bulbs included, and how do I change them?
Yes, E14 bulbs are included. To change one, switch the fixture off, let it cool, and lift out the bottom disc, which gives you access to the bulbs from below. E14 is slightly wider than the E12 base common in the US, so check the base printed on the box when you buy replacements.
Do I need an electrician? Can I dim it?
It is hardwired, which means it connects directly to your ceiling's electrical wiring, with no plug. If you are unsure about your wiring, use a licensed electrician, as local codes can require one. Dimming is not listed. If you want to use a dimmer, ask us first so we can confirm it works with the included bulbs and your setup.
How do I look after the flowers and the copper?
Dust the ceramic and glass flowers with a soft, dry brush. Wipe the frosted glass and the copper with a dry microfiber cloth, and keep liquid cleaners off the copper finish. Ceramic and glass can chip if knocked, so when you install or move the fixture, hold it by the frame and not by the flowers.
