A single overhead light treats every moment the same. Layered lighting โ a ceiling fixture, a wall sconce, a table lamp โ gives a room range. The Vera Wall Lamp works as the layer that brings warmth and intimacy to a space that already has function. Place one beside a bed, flank a mirror with two, or use it to draw attention to a corner that deserves it. The room doesn't just look better. It feels different.
FAQ
Which color should I choose, and how does it look when it's on?
There are four colors: beige white, green, brown, and amber. Beige white gives the softest, most neutral glow and suits almost any wall. Amber, the shade in the photo, casts a warm, honeyed light that makes a room feel cozy, especially in the evening. Green and brown are deeper and more moody, and they look best on calm, muted walls or against wood. A darker glass shows more of its color when the light is on and tints the glow slightly. If you're unsure, amber and beige white are the easiest to live with.
What bulb should I use, and will I see it?
Use an LED or Edison bulb with an E27 base. A warm white LED around 2700K suits the glass best and keeps the glow soft. The shape is open at the top with wavy edges, so the bulb can be glimpsed from some angles, especially from above. A frosted or opal bulb cuts that glare and spreads the light more gently. Check the maximum wattage on the fixture's label before you buy, and stay within it.
How bright is it, and where does the light go?
It gives a soft, warm glow rather than strong light. The light shines through the colored glass and also spreads up the wall from the open top, so you get a gentle wash of light above the lamp as well. It's meant to be one layer in a room that already has main lighting. It works well beside a bed, on either side of a mirror, or in a corner that needs some warmth. It isn't designed to be the only light in a room or a reading light. For reading, a table lamp nearby will do better.
How big is it, and how far does it stick out?
It comes in one size. It's 28cm (11") wide, 25cm (10") tall, and sticks out 13cm (5.1") from the wall. That's a modest depth, so it works at a bedside or beside a mirror without taking over. A common starting point is hanging it with the center about 150cm from the floor. If you're using a pair, place them at the same height on each side. Tape a piece of paper at the same size to the wall to preview the scale before you drill.
Can I dim it, and do I need an electrician to install it?
It has a push button switch and isn't dimmable, so it can't be used with a dimmer. The lamp is wall mounted and runs on AC 110 to 240V, which suits most homes. If you're connecting it to wiring in the wall, a licensed electrician is the safe choice. Turn the power off at the breaker before anyone starts work. The shade is glass, so fix the lamp securely with proper wall anchors or into a stud and handle it with care while you're installing it.
Is the glass fragile, and how do I clean it?
It's glass, so treat it with the same care you'd give a vase. Handle it with both hands, and keep it where it won't get knocked, such as away from busy doorways. To clean it, switch off the light and let the bulb cool. A soft, dry microfiber cloth takes off dust, and a slightly damp cloth removes marks, followed by a dry wipe. The lamp is made for indoor use and isn't rated for wet areas, so keep it out of bathrooms and away from heavy steam.
