Inspired by the ancient art of stone balancing, the Totem Alabaster Wall Lamp features a sculptural diffuser composed of hand-carved, “stacked” layers of genuine natural alabaster. Each translucent stone disc is meticulously shaped to mimic smooth river pebbles, creating an organic silhouette that feels both primitive and sophisticated. Suspended from a graceful, curved brass stem, the fixture blends architectural precision with an ethereal, soft-focus glow.

FAQ
Will each stone disc look like the ones in the photo?
They'll look very similar, but not identical. Every disc is hand-carved from natural alabaster and shaped like a smooth river pebble, so no two are exactly the same. The thickness of the discs, the cloudy patches, and the shade of white can all vary a little from one lamp to the next. That's part of what gives the stack its balanced, hand-made look. If you order two for either side of a bed, they'll look like a matching pair rather than twins. Orders take 5 to 10 days on average to prepare before they ship.
How much light does it give off?
It gives a soft, warm glow rather than strong light. The LED is built in at 3000K, and the light passes through the alabaster discs so each one lights up from within. You'll see a gentle halo around the stack, and some light spreads onto the wall behind it. That makes it suited to ambient and accent lighting beside a bed, in a hallway, or next to a mirror. It isn't designed to light an entire room or to read by comfortably. For tasks, add a ceiling light or a lamp.
How big is it, and how far does it stick out from the wall?
The stone stack is 8.5cm (3.3") across and the whole lamp is 45cm (17.7") tall. It reaches about 15cm (5.9") out from the wall on its curved arm. That's a comfortable depth for a bedside, a mirror, or a wide hallway. In a narrow corridor, remember it sticks out, and think about whether people will brush past it. Tape a strip of paper to the wall at the same height to see the scale before you drill.
Where should I hang it, and should I buy one or two?
A common starting point is hanging it with the center of the stone around 150cm from the floor. Beside a bed, many people mount one on each side at the same height for a balanced look. In a hallway, a row of the same lamp spaced evenly makes a calm, repeating rhythm. A single lamp works as an accent next to a mirror, a doorway, or on a stairwell wall. Whichever you pick, keep the lights level with each other so the arrangement feels intentional.
Can I dim it, and do I need an electrician to install it?
It has a push button switch and isn't dimmable, so it can't be used with a dimmer. The lamp is wall mounted and runs on AC 110 to 240V, which suits most homes. If you're connecting it to wiring in the wall, a licensed electrician is the safe option. Turn the power off at the breaker before anyone starts work. The stone stack hangs out from the wall on an arm, so fix the wall plate securely with proper anchors or into a stud.
Can it go near moisture, and how do I clean between the discs?
It's made for indoor use and isn't rated for wet areas, so keep it away from direct splashes and heavy steam. Alabaster is a natural stone that can take in moisture, which makes a bathroom a risky spot. To clean it, switch off the light and let it cool. Use a soft, dry brush, such as a clean makeup brush, to sweep dust out of the gaps between the discs. A dry microfiber cloth works for the flat edges and the metal arm. Alabaster is soft, so avoid water, glass cleaner, and anything acidic or abrasive.
