Use an LED or Edison bulb with an E27 base, and keep it within the 40W maximum. An LED is the better pick for a paper shade because it stays much cooler. A warm white bulb around 2700K matches the natural tone of the mulberry paper and gives a gentle, candle-like glow. The paper is thick enough to diffuse the light, so you'll see a soft shape rather than a clear bulb. A frosted bulb softens the effect even more, and it's worth checking your bulb fits the socket before you order if you're outside E27 regions.

It gives a soft, even glow rather than strong, direct light. The shade is large, so the glowing surface is bigger than on a small paper lamp and it fills a corner nicely. It's listed for rooms of about 10 to 15 square meters, so it suits a bedroom, a reading corner, or a hallway. In a larger living space, treat it as accent lighting alongside other lights. For reading or detailed work, a task lamp nearby will serve you better.

The shade is mulberry paper stretched over a metal frame, so it's light and a little delicate. Pressing on the paper or squeezing the tiers can dent or tear it, so move the lamp by holding the base with both hands. Heat is the main thing to be careful about with any paper shade, which is why we suggest an LED bulb within the wattage limit. Switch the lamp off and let the bulb cool before you change it. Leave a few centimeters between the paper and any wall or object so nothing presses against the shade. If space is tight, a smaller version of the lamp might be a better fit.
