Halden Craftsman Table Lamp
Halden Craftsman Table Lamp
Overview
A small table lamp in the Arts & Crafts tradition. A wide conical shade of handmade silk sits over a tapered metal column on a round oak base. The silk is stretched over an iron frame and edged in brass, its fine linen weave letting the bulb glow through as a warm amber wash rather than a hard point of light. At 13.8" wide and 11" tall, it rests on a desk, side table, or bedside without crowding the surface. The shape borrows from the Craftsman and Mission lamps of the early 1900s — low, broad, and built to throw light downward and outward across a reading area.

Good to Know
Handmade Silk Shade — Each One Is Slightly Different
The shade is real silk with a linen-weave texture, stretched by hand over an iron frame and finished with a brass edge. Because the silk is stretched by hand, the tension, the weave pattern, and the way the amber tone reads against the light vary slightly from one shade to the next. Small irregularities in the weave and edge are characteristic of a handmade textile shade, not defects. Over time, silk shades mellow in tone — this is normal and part of the material.
Candelabra-Base Bulb · Bulb Not Included
The Halden Craftsman takes one small candelabra-base bulb — the same screw size used in chandeliers and decorative fixtures. Bulbs are not included; we recommend a warm-white LED (2700–3000K, max 40W) to match the amber tone of the silk shade. Note: candelabra bulbs come in E12 (North American) and E14 (European) thread sizes, which are not interchangeable — confirm which socket is supplied with your order before buying bulbs.
Dimensions
The Halden Craftsman is a low, broad table lamp — the shade is wider than the lamp is tall, characteristic of the Arts & Crafts style. It works on a desk, a side table beside a chair, a console, or a bedside table. The low profile means it sits below eye level when you're seated, so you see the warm glow of the shade rather than the bulb.

Use & Care
- Plug-in lamp — no hardwiring or electrician needed. Plug into any standard wall outlet and use the switch on the cord or base.
- Confirm the candelabra socket type (E12 or E14) before buying bulbs. E12 is North American, E14 is European — the threads differ slightly and bulbs are not interchangeable. We can confirm which is supplied with your order.
- Twist the bulb gently into the socket. Do not exceed 40W — higher-wattage bulbs run hot and can scorch or discolor a silk shade over time.
- Dust the silk shade gently with a soft, dry brush or a hair dryer on the cool setting. Do not use water, sprays, or a vacuum — these will mark or pull the silk weave.
- Wipe the oak base and metal column with a soft, dry cloth. An occasional light wood polish keeps the oak finish even; avoid wax buildup.
- Keep the lamp out of direct sunlight when possible — prolonged sun fades both the silk shade and the oak base.
- Indoor use only. Not suitable for bathrooms, kitchens near steam, or damp locations — silk absorbs moisture and oak can warp.
