— What We Offer —

A thoughtful approach to customization

Customization is where ego meets practicality. We believe in giving you real options where they matter — and being honest about where customization isn't possible. Selected fixtures in our collection can be customized in finish, dimension, and certain configuration details. Other fixtures are designed as a single resolved object and aren't customized at all.

If a product page shows a "Customize this fixture" option in its specifications, that fixture is open for customization. If it doesn't, the design is fixed — but we may be able to suggest a similar piece that does support what you're looking for.

What's possible, what isn't

Here's the honest summary, before we get into details.

What we can do
Possible
  • Alternate finishes on customizable fixtures (selection varies by piece)
  • Adjusted cord, chain, or rod length on most pendants and chandeliers
  • Modular extensions (extra arms, clusters) on select chandeliers
  • Shade material or color swaps from our existing palette
  • Bulb base conversions (e.g., E26 to E12) on compatible models
  • Voltage adaptation for international destinations (110V / 220V)
What we don't do
Not possible
  • Building entirely new designs from scratch (we are not a custom-design studio)
  • Reproducing or modifying designs from other brands
  • Customization on fixtures explicitly marked as fixed-design
  • Structural changes that affect fixture safety, weight, or certifications
  • Adding integrated smart-home electronics beyond standard dimming
  • Custom orders with extreme rush timelines (under 4 weeks)

What you can actually change

For fixtures that support customization, these are the dimensions of choice we open up. Each fixture's product page lists which of these are available for that specific piece.

Option 01
Finish

Metal hardware can often be specified in alternate finishes from our standard palette. Selection varies by fixture.

  • Brushed brass
  • Polished brass
  • Antique bronze
  • Matte black
  • Polished nickel
  • Aged steel
Option 02
Drop length

Cord, chain, or rod length on hanging fixtures can be specified to match your ceiling height. We measure ceiling-to-fixture-bottom.

  • Standard 36" — 60"
  • Extended up to 144"
  • Custom length on request
Option 03
Shade material

For fixtures with a shade element, alternate shade materials and colors from our existing range may be specified.

  • Hand-blown glass colors
  • Linen or silk fabric shades
  • Rattan and natural fibers
  • Ceramic body tones
Option 04
Modular configuration

Select chandeliers and pendant clusters can be specified with additional arms, modules, or alternate symmetry.

  • Add arms (3, 5, 6, 8, 12)
  • Cluster sizes 1, 3, 5, 7
  • Linear vs round arrangements
Option 05
Voltage & certification

For international destinations or commercial requirements, fixtures can be configured for the appropriate voltage and certification.

  • 110V / 120V (North America)
  • 220V / 240V (Europe / Asia / Aus)
  • Damp / wet location upgrade
Option 06
Bulb base & dimming

Compatible socket bases and dimmable / non-dimmable wiring configurations on fixtures that support the swap.

  • E26 / E12 / G9 / GU10 bases
  • Dimmable LED ready
  • Hardwired vs plug-in
Pricing on customization. Each customization is priced based on its scope. Simple swaps (length, finish from existing palette) typically carry no surcharge. Modular reconfigurations or custom-length runs are quoted on a per-project basis. Your customization quote is provided in writing before any commitment.

"We choose to be honest about where the design is finished. A great fixture, fully resolved, doesn't always benefit from being changed."

— How It Works —

From idea to finished piece

The process is collaborative — you tell us what you need, we tell you honestly what's possible, and we proceed only when both sides are clear.

i
Day 1 — 2
Send us your request

Email us with the fixture you're interested in (a product link or model number is ideal), the customization you'd like, and the project context — room dimensions, ceiling height, intended use.

ii
Day 2 — 5
Feasibility & quote

We confirm whether the customization is possible on that specific fixture, propose any necessary adjustments, and quote both the price and the lead time. Some requests we'll politely decline if they would compromise design integrity or safety.

iii
Day 5 — 10
Sign-off & deposit

For finishes we offer a sample (mailed to you) before committing. For modular changes we provide a dimensional sketch. Once signed off and 50% deposited, your piece enters production.

iv
4 — 10 weeks
Production

Customized fixtures are made-to-order. Lead times typically range from 4 weeks (simple swaps) to 10 weeks (modular reconfigurations or international voltage upgrades). You receive milestone updates throughout.

v
Final week
Final inspection & delivery

Your custom piece is inspected against the signed-off specification, balance payment is captured, and the fixture is shipped (white-glove delivery is included on most customized fixtures over 30 lbs).

— Important Terms —

Before you commit, please read

Customized fixtures are made specifically for you, on your specifications. That changes how they work in a few important ways:

Final sale. Customized fixtures are not eligible for return or exchange. Once you've signed off on the specification and your deposit is processed, the order cannot be canceled. This is why we emphasize the sample-and-sign-off step — to make sure the piece is right before we start building it.
Warranty applies. Customized fixtures carry the same standard warranty as our regular collection — manufacturing defects are covered. Damage or failure resulting from improper installation, misuse, or modification after delivery is not covered, regardless of customization.
Lead times are reservations. The lead time quoted in your customization order is reserved production capacity. Significant requests for changes once production begins may require restarting the lead-time clock.
Customization isn't always cheaper. Made-to-order pieces often cost slightly more than identical stock items because they're built one at a time rather than in batched production runs. Pricing is always disclosed in writing before any deposit.

Customization questions

Customizable fixtures display a "Customize this fixture" button on their product page, alongside the available options. If the button isn't there, the fixture is offered as a fixed design only. When in doubt, email us — we'll confirm in one business day whether your specific request is possible on that fixture.
Generally, no. We are not a custom-design studio — our customizations adapt existing pieces from our collection. For new-from-scratch design, we recommend working with an independent lighting designer first; once the design is resolved, we may be able to assist with manufacturing as a separate engagement (typically only for trade partners with project scale).
Simple swaps from our existing palette (alternate finish, standard length adjustments) often carry no surcharge — the price is the same as the standard fixture. Significant changes (custom long lengths, modular extensions, voltage conversions) typically add 10–35% to the standard price. Every customization is quoted in writing before commitment.
For finish customizations, yes — we mail finish samples for free or at minimal cost (typically credited to your eventual order). For dimensional or modular customizations, we provide CAD or sketch drawings rather than physical samples, which keeps lead times reasonable.
A few common reasons: the change would compromise structural integrity or weight balance; the requested finish or material isn't compatible with the rest of the fixture; the change would invalidate the fixture's safety certifications; or the request resembles another brand's existing design. We'll always explain why we're declining and propose an alternative when one exists.
Within 24 hours of confirming your customized order and before production begins, yes — we can cancel and refund your deposit. Once production has started, customized orders cannot be canceled or refunded because the fixture is being made specifically for you.
