How do I choose?

Choose the width first. A common rule for a table is to pick a fixture at least 12″ narrower than the table: about 32″ wide or larger for the 19.7″ sizes, 36″ for the 23.6″ size, and 44″ for the 31.5″ size. The two 19.7″ versions differ in height, 10.7″ and 11.9″, so the taller one hangs about 1.2″ lower and looks fuller. The 31.5″ size is the largest and tallest, at 14.6″.

Will I see the bulbs?

Mostly not directly. The frosted oval in the middle of each panel hides the bulb behind it and glows as a soft, creamy shape, and the rippled clear glass around the oval catches the light in wavy lines. From below and between the tiers, you may see a bit of bulb through the clear edges. If you prefer no bulb to show at all, choose a frosted LED.

LED or halogen? Which bulb should I buy?

Both are listed. The base is E14, which is slightly wider than the E12 base common in the US, so check the base printed on the box. We recommend LED, because halogen bulbs run much hotter, and in a fixture that sits close to the ceiling with glass around the bulbs, the heat collects. Ask us for the number of lights and the maximum wattage for the size you want before you order.

How much ceiling height does it need?

It hangs from a short gold rod, and the fixture itself is 10.7″ to 14.6″ tall, so it needs far less height than a long-drop chandelier. In a walkway, keep the bottom at least 7 feet above the floor. Over a table, a common guide is to hang the bottom 30″ to 36″ above the tabletop. If your ceiling is lower than 8 feet, or you want a longer rod, ask us before you order.

Can I dim it?

It is listed as compatible with common wall switches, which are not included. Dimming is not listed, so ask us first if you want to use a dimmer, so we can confirm it works with your bulbs and setup.

Can I use it in a bathroom? How do I clean the glass?

No bathroom: it is rated IP20, which means no protection against water, so it is for dry indoor rooms only. To clean it, switch it off and let the bulbs cool, then wipe each panel with a soft, dry microfiber cloth, holding it steady with your other hand. Dust settles in the ripples, so use a soft brush there first. Keep liquid cleaners off the gold finish.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0990/8761/4251/files/Rivage_Oval_Wave_Flush_Mount_Chandelier_1.webp?v=1792132986
