How do I choose?

Choose by width, since the height is 17.4″ in both. A common rule for a table is to pick a fixture at least 12″ narrower than the table, so the 17.7″ size suits a table about 30″ wide or larger, and the 23.7″ size suits a table about 36″ or larger. The wider one looks fuller and flatter, and the narrower one looks more upright.

Can I get it in a different colour?

Yes, the glass colour can be customized. Contact us with the colour you have in mind and your size, and we will tell you what is possible before you order. If you have a photo of the room, send it, since glass colour looks different against different walls and lighting.

Will each disc look like the ones in the photo? Will I see the bulb?

Each disc has its own swirl, so yours will have the same character as the photo but not the same arrangement. The discs are part clear and part cloudy, so from some angles you can see a softened bulb through the clear areas, while the white swirls hide it elsewhere. From a distance you mostly see glowing glass.

What bulbs can I use, given the 15W limit?

The listed maximum power is 15W, so use bulbs at or below that rating. LED bulbs are the easiest way to stay within the limit. Edison bulbs also fit, and their visible filament looks good through the clear parts of the glass. The socket is E14, which is slightly wider than the E12 base common in the US, so check the base printed on the box.

Can I dim it, and where can't I hang it?

It is listed as compatible with common wall switches, which are not included. Dimming is not listed, so ask us first if you want to use a dimmer. It is rated IP20, which means no protection against water, so use it in dry indoor rooms only and not in a bathroom, over a shower or bathtub, or on a covered patio. It is hardwired, so use a licensed electrician if you are unsure about your wiring.

How low will it hang?

It hangs from a nickel chain. Over a table, a common guide is to hang the bottom 30″ to 36″ above the tabletop. In a walkway, keep the bottom at least 7 feet above the floor. Send us your ceiling height and where you want the bottom of the fixture, and we will confirm the chain length you need.

How do I clean the hanging glass discs?

Switch it off and let the bulbs cool. The discs hang from thin hooks, so hold each disc steady with one hand and wipe it with a soft, dry microfiber cloth with the other. For marks, use a cloth lightly dampened with water, and keep liquid cleaners off the nickel finish.
